SEA Games 26 Watch U23 Vietnam vs U23 Timor-Leste live U23 Vietnam vs U23 Timor-Leste

Match Schedule
Tournament: SEA Games 2011

Match: U23 Vietnam vs U23 Timor-Leste Live/Repeat: Live
Date:- Wednesday (09)

Vietnam’s Under-23 men’s national football team was held to a scoreless draw against Myanmar in their second game at the 26th South East Asian Games in Indonesia on Saturday.
The Vietnamese looked the better side all through the regular 90 minutes and created several chances but failed to score a single goal.
They had beaten Myanmar 5-0 at VFF Cup in Hanoi late last month, so they were hopeful of another victory.
The Vietnamese footballers were attacking throughout but Myanmar stuck firm to their defensive tactics and it paid off.
Vietnam’s central fullback Lam Anh Quang found the net eight minutes before the break but the referee ruled him offside.
Vietnam continued to launch attacks and looked even more dangerous attacks after Moe Win of Myanmar was sent off with a red card after tackling Vietnam’s striker Van Quyet in the 59th minute. However, Myanmar’s defense stood firm.
In fact, things could have been worse for Vietnam. Myanmar’s Yan Aung Win hit the bar in a counterattack during stoppage time of the second half.
Vietnam still leads Group B with four point. Myanmar also has four points but is in second place on goal difference.
Vietnam will on Wednesday clash with East Timor, who came from behind to beat Brunei 2-1 in their first match on Saturday.

Minh looks for gold at upcoming SEA Games

Vietnam's top badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh is looking to win gold at the upcoming Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Indonesia.

His task has been made easier by the withdrawal of Malaysia's world No 1 Lee Chong Wei who has decided to concentrate on the 2012 London Olympics.
"There is a good chance for Minh to win gold at the SEA Games this year," said coach Nguyen The Huy.
However, 28-year-old Minh will have his work cut out against Indonesia's world No 8 Taufik Hydayat, who has looked in better form than the HCM City player.

The Olympian, ranked 7th in the world, will also face stiff competition from Thailand's world No 10 Boonsak Ponsana, Indonesia's world No 12 Simon Santoso, 34th-ranked Thai Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk and 41st-ranked Malaysian Hafiz Hashim.
Minh's chances may be hampered due to fitness worries. He only advanced to the second round of the Denmark Open and the second round of the French Open last month.
According to Huy, this may cause psychological problems for Minh at the start of the competition.
In preparation for the Games, a 12-member team flew to Indonesia earlier this month to practise at the Jaya Raya badminton club, one of five top clubs in Indonesia, ahead of the competition that runs from this Saturday to next Saturday.
Leading Indonesian players including Hendra Stiawan and Markis Kidowill will train with the Vietnam team.
The team, coached by Indonesian coach Asep Suharno, consists of seven men and five women, with Minh and Vu Thi Trang expected to win medals in their events.

Tiger Woods getting his groove back

Former world number one Tiger Woods on Monday said he was starting to enjoy golf again after a spate of injuries, with a strict training regime helping him regain his speed and distance.
Now ranked 56 after going off the boil following lurid revelations about his private life, the 14-time major champion said he was having fun, but refused to comment on the racist slur against him by ex-caddy Steve Williams. "I've had a broken leg, a torn Achilles, and strained ligaments over the last five years," he told Melbourne's Triple M radio station, having made clear ahead of the interview he would not be taking questions on Williams.

"I've been rehabbing for so long I haven't been able to train.

"Now I'm starting to get going, I'm starting to do all my explosive training again.

"I'm hitting faster, more explosive, my speed's come back. I'm hitting the ball distances, I know I can hit the golf ball again, it's getting fun."

Woods was in Melbourne for a round of golf with cricketer Shane Warne, Warne's fiancee Liz Hurley and gaming tycoon James Packer at the privately-owned Capital Golf Club.

He heads to Sydney on Tuesday for the Australian Open, with a press conference scheduled where the Williams row is expected to be the focus of attention.

Williams, who was Woods' caddy for 13 of his 14 Major titles before being sacked earlier this year, referred to the player as a "black arsehole" during an awards dinner on Friday night in Shanghai.

Once one of the longest hitters on tour, Woods said the landscape had changed since he turned pro, with now players much more athletic.

"Guys are in the gym, they're lifting the weights, they're hitting the track, they're trying to get stronger, faster because inevitably all sports do," he said.

"The next generation gets a little bit better."

Amazing rocky walls in Cham Islet

When touring Cham Islet, or Cu Lao Cham in the ancient city of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province you are bewitched by splendid landscapes with wonderful sandy beaches, forested hills and the glorious clear, blue sea.
The location is a popular spot for tourists to go camping, swimming and scuba-diving to explore coral reefs and beautiful marine life.
However, with a small boat you can take a cruise around the islet and travelers will discover it is enhanced due to its rocky mountain walls.

Cham Islet, 20 kilometres offshore of Hoi An, has been named a global biosphere reserve by UNESCO’s International Coordination Council of Man and the Biosphere Program.

It takes about twenty minutes by boat or canoe but it is worth the short wait as you drift amidst the sky and sea and then as if by magic the islets appear in all their glory.

Cham Islands consists of eight islets with a total surface area of 40,000 hectares. Lao, Dai, Mo, Kho Me, Kho Con, La, Tai and Ong islets are home to only about 3,000 residents leaving the landscapes largely in pristine condition. The islet has 1,549 hectares of tropical forest and nearly 1,000 species of marine life.

The islets are cool and fresh all-year round, so tourists can come there anytime. The immense green of the forests harmonize with the blue of the sea to create an endless green airspace. White sand beaches and peaceful fishing villages make the islet more poetic and fanciful.

Cham Islet’s Huong and Ong beaches are popular options for tourists because of the smooth sand and the small waves. Cham Islet is also home to diverse flora and fauna, especially abalone and sanglaganes, birds which have long been considered a delicacy by aristocrats and the wealthy. The islet also boasts 135 species of coral which are exciting discoveries for tourists.

However, the islet is especially impressive with vertical mountain walls covered by rocks in varied and weird shapes. Small and large waves crash on them and toss white sponges and create interesting sounds. Rocky mounts change their shapes as you travel on your cruising boat. Sometimes the water is clear, sometimes vaporous as it lets travelers indulge into the vastness of this beautiful location.

Upstreaming to Choi Waterfall

Lying on Luoi Hai Mountain, Choi Waterfall is the diamond of Cu Dong Commune, Thanh Son District, Phu Tho Province.
If at this time of the year you are looking for a weekend getaway, then taking the 80 kilometer journey from Hanoi to this beautiful area will be a good choice. It is especially beautiful in the fall.
From the center of Cu Dong Commune, the route to the waterfall is not a smooth ride in the slightest but it is worth the trek as you take in some lovely scenery from the evergreen cornfields of the Choi villagers.

Passing over the three-kilometre pathway, tourists will reach the fall and must then start to conquer it. Choi Waterfall is a system of large and small falls located close together. From a height of 50 metres, the white fall looks like a silver carpet striking under the glistening sun rays. The stream runs through large green-mossed rocks as the sponges and water streams overwhelm the area making it completely white. The fall is covered by dense green trees and on the rock walls are interlacing root sets of ancient trees.

Climbing a sloping, short section to get to the second fall, tourists will take in the panoramic view of Choi Waterfall’s downstream area. Amidst the immense forest is a sinuous long streak of the stream. In the distance, the scenery is studded with house roofs blanked in rice and corn fields. Standing there, travelers can sense both the magnificence and romance of Thanh Son.

To get to the next level of the fall, tourists need to trek up a rather tricky slope with stiff rock walls. The terrain is rather tough and rocks are slippery so trekkers are required to be very careful. However, the beauty of the fall is a challenge for the adventurer in us all who like to challenge nature.

The journey is not over until tourists reach the third level which has a very poetic and pure stream like a sleeping beauty in a primitive forest. The stream sneaks through rock slots and sometimes pours down rock cliffs. On the two banks are giant trees scattered with colorful butterflies.

At the end of the stream is two small falls running to a small valley where tourists can swim freely after getting tired of trekking. However, the water is rather deep so travelers need to wear life-jackets just to be sure.

According to locals, the peak of the waterfall is on the top of the high mountain and the only way to see it is upstreaming the fall. If you are really brave and have no fear, don’t hesitate but pack a bag and be very careful.

Discovery Dam Da in Hoa Binh

Dam Da is a favourite destination, which is located in Phu Lao Commune, Lac Thuy District, Hoa Binh Province.
While such names as Hoa Tien grotto, Tien Phi grotto, Mai Chau valley, Hoa Binh hydroelectric dam are tourists highlights, Dam Da seems to be an obscure historical site.
This is a vast complex of temples, pagodas and caves, including Trinh temple (also known as Quan Trinh), Mau temple, Tien pagoda and others.

Dam Da hosts annual festival in the fourth month of the lunar year, attracting many pilgrims from the province and neighboring regions.

In the complex, Tien Pagoda has been recognized as a national historical cultural site which attracts many visitors to come here for sightseeing or worship.

Nguoi Xua Cave is renowned as a national archaeological location with many vestiges of ancient Vietnamese people, contributing a great deal to the historical study.
Scattered around the complex are temples and pagodas such as Trinh Temple, Mau Temple and Tien Pagoda, which are dedicated to worship legendary characters such as Au Co Mother, Lac Long Quan Father, Hoang Bay Mandarin and Tam Toa Thanh Mau.
Dam Da also has over 20 mysterious caves including Tam Toa, Thuy Tien, Cung Tien, Hoang Muoi and Co Chin. In the caves, stalactites in diverse colors and shapes hang. As the caves’ entrances are situated halfway up the mountains, travelers have to trek to reach them.

One will find it extremely difficult to list all the caves here. When coming into each cave, tourists will be totally taken by surprised at the gigantic and illusory stalagmites and stalactites.

Dam Da is most crowded in spring, particularly from January to March when there is Chua Tien festival. It is also convenient for tourists to visit Huong pagoda nearby – a famous attraction in My Duc district, Hanoi.
