Gunners will continue to support the on-field success
Gazidis: Says the club will continue to be supported
after posting another yearly profit
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis claims the club will continue to support 'on-field success' after posting another pre-tax profit.
The club made a group profit of almost £15million for the year ending 31st May 2011 - £41million less than the profit made in the previous 12 months.
The difference in the two years is due to the price of players being sold in the 2009-10 season in addition to a one-off property windfall.
After the sale of Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona in August, the club expect another profit for the following 12 months.
The Gunners made a loss of £14.7million on player trading, where they made a profit of almost £14million a year earlier.
Group turnover was £255.7million, a reduction from 2010 where the club brought in £379.9million.
Success
Gazidis said: "Our primary objective, as we take the club forward, will always be success on the field.
"To give the club the best opportunity to achieve this, we must drive a virtuous circle of increased revenue, increased investment in the team and a larger engaged fan base and we must do this in a way which is self-sustaining and protects the long-term future of the club.
"Our goals for the organisation are clear and unchanged: to support and fund on-field success; and to enhance the fan experience.
"We are making progress on all fronts and the club starts its 125th year in a strong position."
