The annual event will attract most of the country’s publishers, as well as several well-known international ones such as Cambridge, Pearson and Oxford. More than 200 book producers will also join, presenting at least 500 booths selling more than 10 million copies of 100,000 books of all varieties.
Last year the fest boasted 470 booths and 150 producers, attracting nearly 700,000 visits with more than 4 million copies of books sold, bringing in VND 20 billion ($952,000) in profits.
In addition to the book sale, the fest will feature seminars, exhibitions and interactions with writers and authors. The exhibition section will present rare and old publications together with books on the late president Ho Chi Minh, the history of Ho Chi Minh City, and Vietnam’s seas and islands.
E-books and other digital publication will also be exhibited.
